New Year, New Habits
Every year, we set resolutions in January, hopeful for the possibilities ahead. While some resolutions are achieved, many others fall by the wayside for various reasons. So why do I keep revisiting this tradition every year? The answer is simple: I’m driven by an unwavering desire to keep growing—and growth requires consistent reflection.
The year 2024 has been one of the most stressful and unproductive for me. By November, I found myself questioning why I felt so off-balance, and I realized it was because I lacked structure. If I’m being honest, my life has lacked true structure and joy ever since my career began to take the lead a few years ago. While some people find peace in "going with the flow," it leaves me feeling scattered and drained. I thrive on routine, and the absence of it over time has a profound impact on my well-being.
This year, I’m committed to building healthier habits and creating routines that suit this stage of my life. These habits will be the foundation I need to finally achieve goals I’ve set over the years but struggled to reach. The process is already underway, as I’ve been refining my morning routine since early December—skincare, Bible time, walks with my dogs, and coffee with breakfast.
As James Clear, author of *Atomic Habits*, says, even a 1% improvement is better than no progress at all. So here’s to embracing a different kind of 1%.
